One of my favourite things about my 10 year jewellery design back-gound was coming up with new concepts for collections or marketing idea (even if they did often get nicked by high-street stores!) Lace Dimes is one of my coolest concepts that I am super proud of. So, in a bid to get some content on this new blog I thought I would share a bit about them
We showcased the collection at a press breakfast with Vans and then launched the collection at London Fashion Week. It lead to some really cool stockists and actually a collaboration with Puma which annoyingly I can’t find any photos of! But, they had a huge blogger event for the launch of their new collection and had Lace Dimes for the bloggers to customise their shoes with.
(Above: That’s me at the press launch in 2016!)
I was trying to think of cool ways to wear jewellery that wasn’t in the traditional way. I love skating and trainers (remember, this was quite a few years ago, before we we all became sportswear luxe mad!) I remembered threading shells onto my laces when I was younger and though, hold on, I can make jewellery for shoes, so, um, I did! Before I closed my jewellery store, I relaunched them in 100% recycled brass which was really exciting to be able to do as the price point was more affordable that gold plated recycled sterling silver.
